Questions for a New Year
I’m not one for New Years Resolutions, because often-times we end up with feelings of guilt or shame if we don’t accomplish what we set out to do. Additionally, a resolution for a whole year is a long time, and it can be easy to lose focus.
Instead I prefer words, affirmations or intentions for the new year. Maybe even just for each season, or each month. That way, we don’t lose sight of what we are working toward, and we can create tangible steps for the new future to actually work toward that intention and monitor our progress.
It’s also important to note that a new year does not have to mean doing more, achieving or even changing. You are worthy exactly as you are, right now. As you were on December 31st, 2022 and all the Januarys and Decembers before that. You are already enough.
Of course, we are all on a life-long journey of growth, learning and healing. But sometimes this looks like doing less. Resting more. Offering ourselves more compassion. Learning to simplify. Finding worth within ourselves rather than hustling to earn or to prove our worth through the eyes of others.
Wherever you are, let this year be a year of worthiness. Worthiness that does not change based on your actions, success or failures.
If you are looking for therapeutic support as you walk in worthiness or walk out your intention, you can contact me here to chat further or set up an initial appointment at this link.
I’ll leave you will a few questions for reflection.
